Information We Collect
When you create or use an In Your Zone account, we may store information such as your name, email address, optional phone number, city, state, ZIP code, account status, listings, Wanted posts, favorites, messages, ratings, reports and other information you choose to provide through the marketplace.
Location Information
In Your Zone uses ZIP-code-based location information to help show nearby listings and Wanted posts and to calculate approximate distances. Your exact home address is not required for marketplace distance searches.
The app may store your selected shopping ZIP code and search distance on your device so your marketplace preferences can be remembered.
Listings and User Content
Information you submit when creating listings or Wanted posts may include titles, descriptions, prices or budgets, categories, item condition, approximate location information and photographs.
Listing information that you choose to publish may be visible to other In Your Zone users and website visitors as part of operating the marketplace.
Messages
Messages sent through In Your Zone are stored so buyers, sellers and users responding to Wanted posts can continue their conversations.
Message information may also be used to provide unread message counts, message notifications and account features.
Push Notifications
If you allow push notifications on an Apple device, In Your Zone may store a device notification token associated with your account.
This token is used to send transactional notifications related to your In Your Zone account, such as alerts when another user sends you a Marketplace or Wanted message.
Push notification permission can be changed at any time through your iPhone or iPad notification settings.
Email Notifications
Users may choose to receive email notifications or summaries related to marketplace activity, including new messages.
Available email notification preferences can be changed through Account Settings.
Ratings, Reports and Safety
In Your Zone may store ratings, reports, blocked-user information and related marketplace activity to operate safety, moderation and abuse-prevention features.
Reports may be reviewed by In Your Zone administrators for moderation, safety and enforcement of marketplace rules.
Cookies and Sessions
The In Your Zone website uses sessions and may use cookies to keep users signed in and remember settings such as shopping ZIP code and distance preferences.
The native mobile app uses authentication credentials and device storage as needed to maintain your signed-in session and saved preferences.
How Information Is Used
Information may be used to:
- Create and operate user accounts.
- Display and manage Marketplace listings and Wanted posts.
- Provide messaging between users.
- Provide favorites, ratings and account features.
- Display approximate distances between users and listings.
- Send transactional push or email notifications.
- Prevent spam, fraud, harassment and other misuse.
- Review reports and moderate the marketplace.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and improve the service.
Information Sharing
In Your Zone does not sell your personal information.
Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to operate the service, provide technical services, protect users, investigate abuse, enforce marketplace rules, comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests.
Service providers may process limited information when necessary to provide functions such as web hosting, email delivery or push notifications.
Data Security
Reasonable technical and administrative measures are used to protect account information. However, no internet service, website or mobile application can guarantee absolute security.
Users should choose strong passwords and protect their account and device login information.
Your Choices
You can update available profile information, shopping preferences, message email preferences and password settings through Account Settings.
You may also control push notification permission using your Apple device settings.
Account Deletion
In Your Zone users can initiate permanent account deletion from the In Your Zone mobile app by opening:
My Zone → Account Settings → Delete My Account
When account deletion is completed, the In Your Zone account and associated account data are permanently removed from the active marketplace, including the user's listings and Wanted posts.
Deletion cannot be undone.
Some information may be retained when required by law, necessary to address security or fraud, resolve disputes, enforce legal rights, or comply with another legitimate legal obligation.
Children
In Your Zone is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
